“What another amazing season it’s been”

Social Media

Our social media platforms continue to be an effective communication strategy showing growth in total audience and reach per post.

Facebook

Our public Facebook account Woolamai Beach SLSC has grown by 300 followers this season to hosting over 3,600 followers, continuing to be one of if not the largest Facebook platform for a Victorian club.

Instagram

The woolamaislsc public Instagram account has continued to grow to just under 1700 followers. It’s great to be able to document patrols and social events showing everyone what goes on at Woolamai on both a professional and fun level.

The sustainability committee’s instagram account has been around for a year now and has reached 88 followers. It’s been great to see ‘sustainability Sundays throughout the season highlighting steps we can take to make the world a better place. I have no doubt that this will continue to grow and flourish in the years to come as the club continues to focus on sustainability.

LinkedIn

The club’s LinkedIn account exhibited consistent posting of member achievements and the newsletters and will have a greater focus on member profiles and acknowledgements in the coming season to showcase our wonderful members.

TikTok

The club’s TikTok account has continued to grow and flourish showing some of the more fun stuff we get up to at Woolamai with board paddles, course footage and just an overall behind the scenes. We’ve now reached 1,300 followers and have accumulated over 43k likes. and if you’re interested in seeing our most viral tiktok with 192k views click here https://www.tiktok.com/@woolamaibeachslsc/video/7183920729925192962

A special thank you to Erin Close and Terry Aslanidis for their creativity as well as all the wonderful actors!

Member communication

Member communication continued to be a strong staple of the communications portfolio

The Weekly update gets sent out every Thursday and consists mainly of upcoming training courses, club events, LSV events and general opportunities that members might be interested in.

The Monthly newsletter was great to be able to share what’s been going on in the club the past month, with a focus on member achievements, completed courses and an overall reflection on the Month.

Thank you to Terry Aslanidis for his help putting them together and making sure our members are informed with available opportunities.

Merchandise

Merchandise was another success this season which couldn’t have been done without many helpers all pitching in to run stalls, count stock, make orders and more.

A special thank you to Fi Blackmore for once again helping out with merchandise and helping organise a group of helpers trhoughout the season.

Chris Pezet did an amazing job of counting and unpacking stock and other tasks throughout the season which ensured everything was accounted for and could be sold to our members.

Other helpers inclide Janine Lloyd, Lisa Bennet Hopkins, Amanda Armstrong, Janelle Medhurst, Anna Wettenhall, Louise Smith, Ash Smith, Abi McCulloch, and everyone who helped at Nippers merch beach sales

Club Website

The club website had no dramatic changes and continued to be a great holder of club resources, training information and more.

Bass Coast Series

Bass Coast Series marketing and communication continued to improve this season with more targeted emails in the lead up to the events. Social media for the events have never been better with a large boost in engagement and helping to keep everyone informed of registrations and date changes.

Thank you to everyone who took pictures on camps and courses, tagged Woolamai in their photos, helped out selling merchandise and everything else that made the season run smoothly.

As we head into the 2023/2024 season, we are always looking for helpers no matter the age or experience. Please reach out if you want to get involved!

See you next season!
