This pathway will take you on a journey helping you discover: how to become involved in Surf Life Saving, how to join your local club, how to transition from one role to another, courses, qualifications and much more.

Nippers! Program

Our hugely popular summer program teaching 6–12 year olds surf education, lifesaving skills, fitness and of course having fun. Runs 9.30am to 11.45am*, with a break on New Years Day.

Surf Rescue Certificate

The SRC course provides participants with skills and knowledge of surf awareness, aquatic rescue operations and resuscitation in order to participate in lifesaving operations and Water Safety Personnel.

Bronze Medallion Award

The Bronze Medallion course provides participants with the skills and knowledge in order to be able to participate in Surf Life Saving patrol operations. This is the core award to be a surf lifesaver in Australia.

Radio Operator Certificate

The Radio Operator Certificate provides participants with the skills and knowledge to perform basic communication practices.

 

Resuscitation

The Resuscitation Award provides participants with the knowledge and skills to perform CPR during an emergency incident.

Basic Emergency Life Support

BELS provides participants with the skills and knowledge to deliver basic emergency life support and deal with injuries during an emergency incident

First Aid

First Aid provides participants with the skills and knowledge to manage emergency first aid situations until professional medical support is available.

Advanced Resuscitation Techniques (ART)

ART provides participants with the skills and knowledge to use oxygen, airway management devices, automated defibrillator and oxygen administration, during resuscitation

Inflatable Rescue Boat | Crew

The IRBC certificate provides participants with the skills and knowledge to effectively crew an Inflatable Rescue Boat in surf rescue operations.

The IRBD certificate provides participants with the skills and knowledge to effectively drive an Inflatable Rescue Boat in surf rescue operations.

Silver Medallion Aquatic Rescue (SMAR)

SMAR provides participants with basic search and rescue knowledge, in order to be able to assist with search and rescue activities

Silver Medallion Beach Management

SMBM provides participants with the skills, knowledge and experience required to manage a lifesaving or lifeguarding team in emergency and non-emergency situations.

 

Side by Side Vehicle (SSV)

Provides participants with the skills and knowledge to safely and effectively operate an SSV for lifesaving purposes

Training Officer Certificate (TOC)

Members who are qualified and endorsed to deliver training activities on behalf of LSV for accredited training and/or lifesaving awards

Assessors Certificate (ASC)

Members are able to obtain the Assessor competency to be able to oversee assessment activities on behalf of LSV for accredited training and/or lifesaving awards

Provides participants with the skills and knowledge to effectively operate and manage a Rescue Water Craft in rescue operation

Responsible for receiving and processing all emergency and non-emergency statewide radio and telephone communications

Provides members with the ability to conduct RPAS deployments to a variety of exercises, response activities and/or events.
