“Our clubhouse is just a clubhouse until its members step inside it”

I would like to firstly thank all members of the Woolamai Beach SLSC for their relentless time, energy, dedication, devotion and passion you show to the club and lifesaving. Your countless hours of work does not go unnoticed and is invaluable.

The club had a reset this 22/23 Lifesaving Season. Life around the Lifesaving club saw some normality and stability with covid having eased off.

Our beaches were packed as usual this summer and our lifeguards and lifesavers did an immaculate job in keeping the beachgoers safe once more. I am privileged to say that all members who attended our patrolled baches within our patrolled times, went home safely to their families thanks to the skill, knowledge, and dedication of our lifesavers.

 Some key stats this season;

  • 14 rescues

  • 8 major First aids

  • 80 Minor First aids

  • 5418 Preventative actions

  • 23685 beach attendance

A massive shout out to the lifesaving services team leaders who exceeded expectations constantly and directed our lifesaving operations beautifully. They managed their patrols weekend in and weekend out, navigating sometimes trying conditions and beaches but safely conducted all their patrols.

With the aid of the Gear and equipment officers who assisted in ensuring all our operational gear was up to tip top shape and ready to use on our beaches under the guidance of Michael “BOO” Butler.

I am happy to say that the 22/23 Season was a massive success with many social events and social activities on. If you thought this season was good, strap in over the winter and buckle up for next season. Let’s make it bigger and better! Together

We are all part of something big here. I look forward to making things bigger with you. Enjoy the winter break, I’ll see you in the summertime
