Director of Communication’s Final Update - Ryan Box
Hi all,
For those who don’t know me I’ve been the director of Communications for the past 3 seasons and am the person behind these monthly newsletters and the weekly updates.
I’m stepping down from the board at the end of this season and won’t be editing these newsletters anymore. It’s been a privilege sharing all the exciting news and achievements that we’ve achieve together as a club and specific member and patrol achievements throughout the seasons.
As the 2024/25 season is almost starting I encourage everyone to think about you can offer your skills to the club or find some small way to help out and make the club even better. There’s plenty to do just to keep things ticking along and there’s always opportunities for creativity and big ideas!
If newsletters or website updates are something you can see yourself doing please read the section down below and don’t hesitate to reach out for more information.
Cheers
Ryan Box
Director of Communications
President’s Update - Jason Close
On the afternoon of Saturday 27 July we will be holding our Annual General meeting at the Clubhouse.
I encourage everyone to come along, hear from the Board, vote on some important matters, meet the new Board members, check out our amazing Clubhouse renovation by the Block, then stick around for drinks and a bite to eat.
I'd like to thank all of our Board members who have served the Club so well over the past season. Our Club has achieved a lot and each of our Board members has played a key role in this.
Thank you to our retiring Board members - Annie Coleman, Campbell Smart and Ryan Box, Dave Ellison. You've made enormous contributions.
It will also be welcome back to our returning Board members. Myself, Fi Blackmore, Christian Born and Jules Hay will be returning for the 2024/25 season.
I'm excited to see some new faces joining our Board and look forward to welcoming them.
At this stage we have one vacancy - we still have room for a Director to look after our Communications.
We are also looking for someone to edit our newsletters and website. This is not a Board role and is something which could be done by a couple of people if you'd like to share the role with a friend. If you are thinking up putting your hand up, we'd love to hear from you.
I'd like to acknowledge the efforts of everyone around the Club throughout the 2023/24 season and look forward to continuing as Club President in 2024/25.
Finally, a big congratulations to our members who are finalists for State awards at the upcoming Life Saving Awards of Excellence in August. It is a huge honour to be nominated, let alone be a finalist. Congratulations to Ellie Ryan, Bonny Dickie and Riley Fyffe. Good luck. The Forrest Caves rescue is also a finalist for Rescue of the Year.
Regards
Jason Close - President@woolamaibeach.asn.au
