Designed by MRTN Architects for TRACT Consulting and Woolamai Beach Surf Life Saving Club, Smiths Beach Rescue Base has been shortlisted for Victorian Architecture Awards 2019, part of National Architecture Awards.

Antony Martin of MRTN Achitects said “Out of 21 projects only 8 were shortlisted and it is an honour to have received this acknowledgement in itself. So well done to all that have been involved in making the tower happen.”

The rescue base was a seven year project of ex-club president Mark Donaldson, installed in May 2018 and opened shortly after by Minister for Emergency Services, The Hon James Merlino MP.
