Radio Operator Certificate
“Provides participants with the skills and knowledge to perform basic communication practices and communication systems in surf lifesaving operations”
The Radio Operator Certificate is included in the Bronze Medallion Award. Candidates will learn how to operate the new digital radio network used within Victoria for lifesaving purposes.

You will be taught the skills and knowledge to:
- Use communication systems and equipment in a lifesaving environment
- Transmit and receive communications in a lifesaving environment
- Maintain communications equipment in a lifesaving environment.
All candidates are required to register through Member Training Portal

+ Pre-requisites
- You must be a current financial member of Woolamai Beach SLSC
- You must be at least 13 years of age on the date of final assessment

- Bronze Medallion

- SLSA Award: Radio Operator Certificate
+ Skills Maintenance
- The Radio Operator Certificate must be re-qualified every year at a Skills Maintenance day run by:
- Woolamai Beach SLSC
- Another Lifesaving Club
- Lifesaving Victoria
