Side by Side Vehicle (SSV)

+ Course Details

• This award will only be run for certain members. For more information pelase contact your Patrol Captain.

All candidates are required to register through Member Training Portal

+ Pre-requisites

• You must be a current financial member of Woolamai Beach SLSC
• You must be at least 18 years of age on the date of final assessment

• Hold the following SLSA awards:

  • Bronze Medallion
  • Current Drivers Licence*

  *Must be on Red 'Ps or higher'

+ Course Outcomes

By the end of the course, you will be taught the skills and knowledge to safely:

• Drive an SSV during lifesaving operations
• Drive an SSV during emergency response situations
• Have an understanding of the rules and legislation around driving an SSV
• Demonstrate safe driving techniques on the beach
• Reverse with a trailer

• SLSA Award: Side by Side Vehicle

+ Skills Maintenance

• The Side by Side Vehicle must be re-qualified every year at a Skills Maintenance day run by:
  • Woolamai Beach SLSC
  • Another Lifesaving Club
  • Lifesaving Victoria
