Green Zinc Patrol Weekend!!!
Hey team! Our first ever Green Zinc Patrol is coming up on the 29th of January and it is going to be an awesome jam packed weekend. We will kick things off with a sustainably sourced dinner at 6:30pm on the Saturday night (28th) as well as a special guest speaker around 7:30pm! On the Sunday morning, we will be having a beach cleanup from 8:45-9:45am, followed by our green zinc patrol starting at 10am until 6pm. We hope to see as many of you there as possible as it is going to be such a fun weekend!!!
IRB Crew & Driver - EOI
Expression of Interests are open for IRBC and IRBD to gauge on candidate numbers for this year camps. Please note this is ONLY to see how many members are interest in each award. This WILL NOT secure you a spot on the camp.
Following the EOI. The dates of the camo will be confirmed and another EOI will go out for each award. Due to popular demand we can only select a certain number of participates per course. To have a better chance in being selected, make sure to continue to stay active within the club by participating in club events (ie. Channel Challenge and Cowes Classic) and continue to patrol in your allocated patrol.

Skills Maintenance - Last Session
Woolamai Beach SLSC will be running its last skills maintenance for the season on Sunday 29th January 2023. All awards will expire on the 31st of January and if you have not completed your skills maintenance by then, you will not be able to participate in patrol or water safety events.
As always, please ensure your membership has been paid and you book into the session via Member Training. More information can be found here https://www.woolamaibeach.org.au/skills-maintenance
Patrol Hours Competition
The Patrol Hours Competition is back! Patrol hours are given to a member who performs either a voluntary patrol or water safety event either at Nippers, SRC, Bronze, Channel Challenge, Cowes Classic or Little Penguin Dash.
LSV have evolved and have created paperless patrol hour logs, meaning patrol hours will be uploaded when a Patrol Captain signs you onto patrol. Before the start of each patrol, the patrol captain will sign on the patrol via LIMSOC and then sign on each member individually. If you are late to the patrol, it is your responsibility to speak with the PC to be signed on.
Starting from February, patrol hours will not be back dated. If you forgot to let the patrol captain know to sign you on, you unfortunately won't be allocated any patrol hours. Please do not message anyone from the LS team to add hours to your name.
Lifeguards
Current and upcoming members who wish to become a Lifeguard next season MUST complete a minimum of 20 hours each season and contribute in at least 1 activity throughout the season. Failure to complete this results in the club not signing your endorsement to become a paid Lifeguard for LSV.

Callout for historic club items!
Hello to all Woolamai Members
From Graeme Clauscen, Club Historian
From the Archives a little bit of History !
I am currently working on the Club’s archives and cataloguing a lot of new items that have been given to the Club.
It is proposed that all of the items in the Club archive will be digitized and uploaded to Victorian Collections where anybody can access all of the items, on line.
The family of Dennis Harris recently provided a large number of photos and documents collected by Dennis over many years.
This is an appeal for donations of items of Historical interest to Club Members past and present. I am looking for the following:
Club Garments
T Shirts, Tops, Shorts, other Any item of clothing with the Club Name/Logo on it, condition not important.
Photographs
Color or black and white photographs of Club activities over the years 1959 -2022. Where possible, detail of, Location, Date, Names, and any other relevant info.
General Memorabilia
Any item of Club interest, Medallions Trophies Certificates Pennants etc. In other words if it is part of Woolamai History I would like to know about it and see it.
IMPORTANT. PLEASE PROVIDE – NAMES DATES TIMES LOCATION AND ANY RELEVANT INFORMATION
If you would like to donate any item that would be great, if not we will photograph the item and return to you.
Best Wishes
Graeme Clauscen
