Lifesaving Services - Campbell Smart
“Our clubhouse is just a clubhouse until its members step inside it”
I would again like to firstly thank all members of the Woolamai Beach SLSC for their relentless time, energy, dedication, devotion and passion you show to the club and lifesaving. Your countless hours of work does not go unnoticed and is invaluable.
The club had a very long and busy Lifesaving Season. Life around the Lifesaving club saw greater social life and stability, and a face lift or two.
Our beaches were packed as usual this summer and our lifeguards and lifesavers did an immaculate job in keeping the beachgoers safe once more. I am privileged to say that all members of the public who attended our patrolled baches within our patrolled times, went home safely to their families thanks to the skill, knowledge, and dedication of our lifesavers.
Some key stats this season;
7 rescues
25 Fist Aids
5450 Preventative actions
25,000+ beach attendance
A massive shout out to the lifesaving services team leaders who exceeded expectations constantly and directed our lifesaving operations beautifully. They managed their patrols weekend in and weekend out, navigating sometimes trying conditions and beaches but safely conducted all their patrols.
I am happy to say that the 23/24 Season was a massive success with many social events and social activities on. This season also showed us what family truly is and what our club stands for when the outcomes aren’t always what we hope for. I am amazed at how you have all conducted yourselves whether it be as a patrolling member, social member, family member or friend. We are one big family, and all are welcome.
We are all part of something big here. I look forward to making things bigger with you. Enjoy the winter break, I’ll see you in the summertime.
