LSVj Club Representative Recruitment 2023-24
LSVj are seeking motivated and enthusiastic youth members to fill available Club Representative positions at their club for the 2023/2024 season. Life Saving Victoria Junior (LSVj) is a platform for youth members aged 14-18yrs to have a voice, create programs youth members want to be part of and create a sustainable future for lifesaving. LSVj provides members with a unique development opportunity, helping to develop and further enhance essential leadership, and communication skills, and provides our young members with exposure to event planning and program development. Members will have the chance to work with other like-minded, motivated, and passionate youth members from across Victoria.

'Mental Health Matters' workshop
Our friends over at Inverloch SLSC have kindly extended an invitation to us for the upcoming 'Mental Health Matters' workshop hosted by the Emergency Services Foundation at Inverloch SLSC on November 18th.
It’s a really fantastic workshop which aims to initiate conversations, discuss mental health and how to support one another. The free workshop is specifically designed for people in the sector, by people in the sector.
We aim to bring together all local services for this event and kindly request that you share this invitation with your staff and volunteers.
Topics covered in this 2.5 hour informal workshop include:
✔️ What is mental fitness?
✔️ Identifying the signs & symptoms
✔️ What’s in your toolbox
✔️ What’s my PPE?
✔️ Who is in your support crew?
✔️ Where to get help
✔️ Stigma around mental health
✔️ How to help others
✔️ How to effectively ask R U OK?
We strongly encourage you bring a partner or support person from home such as an older child or close friend.
The 2.5 hour workshop will commence at 10am and attendees are invited to stay after for lunch and networking.

This is a reminder to renew your Membership for the 2023/24 Season!
Any member wishing to participate in any lifesaving activity within the club or state MUST renew their membership for the current season.

Membership Fees (Increase)
Membership Fees will be increasing by $10 for all Active, Junior and Cadet categories after the 31st October this season (date has been extended). You are still able to renew/pay your membership at the current price until this date.

LSV U18 Leadership Development Camp
Applications are now open for the 2023 U18 Leadership Development Camp for both candidates and leaders.
Taking place Friday, 1 December to Sunday, 3 December 2023 at Lord Somers Camp, Somers. The U18 Leadership Development Camp is an opportunity for members aged 16-17 years to develop and enhance their leadership and lifesaving skills, as they progress through their lifesaving journey.
Participants are provided with the opportunity to further understand and learn about their leadership style and how to build effective teams through fun practical activities. They will be exposed to beach scenario-based training, which will help develop lifesaving, mentoring and coaching skills, which can be utilised back at their club.
Participants will be mentored by current volunteer leaders and can learn, share, and network with likeminded lifesavers from across the state over a three-day live-in camp.
Pre-Requisites
16 or 17 years of age at time of camp
Have a good standing with the club
Considered to be a future leader of the club

Being a Camp Leader will provide you with an opportunity to extend your own leadership potential, develop valuable facilitating skills, network with likeminded members and to assist in establishing the next generation of young leaders

LSV’s (age 18-30) Leadership Program – Leadership Beyond the Flags
Applications are now open for the LSV’s new 18-30 leadership program.
Life Saving Victoria is excited to launch a new leadership development opportunity for our senior members aged 18-30 years. This program has been designed in collaboration with our senior development panel and aims to enhance our emerging leaders with the skills, attributes and knowledge required to thrive in current and future roles.
Who should participate?
Leadership beyond the flags is designed for current and emerging leaders who are seeking personal and professional development. Interested participants may have recently taken on a new leadership role or aspire to do so. Participants could include Club Captains, Patrol Captains, Chief Instructors, Age Managers, Junior Coordinators and current or aspiring Committee/Board Members.
