Final call for AGM Board Nominations! Last chance!
As previously advised our club's Annual General Meeting will be held on Sunday 24th July 2022. We will advise as we approach the date whether the event will be held virtually, as in the past two years, or whether it will be in person.
Please find attached to this email a letter indicating the full details of nominating for the Board of Directors for season 2022/2023. We have many retiring current Board members at this AGM.
If you are interested in nominating for the Board and have questions about any of the positions, please speak with any of the current Board members via their listed contact details in the attached.
Nominations for Board member positions are called for by 5pm on Saturday 4th July 2022 at the below link that is also provided in this letter:

Clubhouse out of action/Phillip Island Whale Festival
The Phillip Island Whale festival is on between Friday July 1st and Sunday July 3rd with various venues across Phillip Island!
As such, the clubhouse will be out of action for members over this period, so members should refrain from accessing it this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
Local community members and visitors alike have the opportunity to engage with a range of activities that will not only entertain, but also allow you to appreciate the wildlife and natural habitats of Phillip Island and the Bass Coast region.

IRB State Championships
Last week some of our members went down to Lorne to assist in the IRB State Championships. Inflatable Rescue Boat (IRB) racing, is a surf sport held in winter, in which surf lifesaving club teams race Inflatable Rescue Boats. IRB racing competitions are held at various beaches in Victoria, with Aussies being run in QLD or NSW.

Medallion Order
The club will be doing a Medallion Order in a few months for those who haven’t received their medallions over the last few years.
Medallions that can be purchased are:
Bronze Medallion
Silver Medallion Aquatic Rescue
Silver Medallion IRB Driver
Silver Medallion Beach Management
Gold Medallion
To purchase a Medallion, you must have completed that award. Medallion replacements are $15

Missing Medallions
Last year the club tried sending Medallions out via the Post however they unfortunately arrived empty. If you received an empty envelope addressed to you, please email training@woolamaibeach.asn.au (except for those who have done so already).

Seasonal Recruitment - 2022/23 Season
Applications to join Life Saving Victoria (LSV) seasonal lifesaving services for the 2022/23 season are now open!
To simplify the process and to enable returning and new service members to apply in one form for all seasonal lifesaving services for the coming season. Applications are now open for Seasonal Lifesaving Services for the 2022/23 Season:
Paid Beach Lifeguards
RWC Operators (Paid & Volunteer)
RPAS (Drone) Pilots (Paid & Volunteer)
LSV Comms (Paid & Volunteer)
When applying, please make sure you check the prerequisite awards. You can check your awards from Members Area by going to Memberships > Awards.
If you do not hold the awards but are looking to do a course before the season starts, still apply!

Rescue Water Craft (RWC) Courses
Life Saving Victoria is now inviting. Applications from members who wish to attain the Rescue Watercraft (RWC) Certificate. LSV will be running two full courses in August and September.
Courses/Dates:
Course #1: Bass - 5th, 6th, 7th & 8th August
Course #2: Surf Coast- 30th, 31st, 1st & 2nd September
Applicants must be available across all four training days to be eligible for the course and complete an online theory component that can be completed in your own time prior to day one of the course.
