Presentation Night Tickets!

Ladies and Gentlemen,

The Presentation Night is a chance for our members, partners, families and supporters to reflect on the season that was. It’s a time to welcome our latest brigade of Bronzies, to celebrate the new awards strived for and achieved, to recognize the difference our service makes and to honor those members who have made outstanding contributions in 2022/23 season.

Event Details

When: Saturday, 20th May 2023
Where: Silverwater Resort - 17 Potters Hill Rd, San Remo VIC 3925
Time: 6:30pm arrival for a 7:00pm start - 10:00pm
Dress Code: Formal Attire

Limited parking is available at the venue. A bus will be provided, to transport members between the clubhouse and the venue for no cost! For those wishing to use this service, please meet at Woolamai Beach Surf Life Saving Club no later than 6:00pm. This transportation is limited and will only involve a single trip in each direction.

Cost includes a 2 course meal (dinner & dessert) as well as pre dinner nibbles. Drinks are at bar prices.

Women Powercraft Development Opportunity

The Aquatic Sport Executive is pleased to announce dates for powercraft development opportunities for female club members.

With support from the Victorian Government’s Change Our Game Community Activation Grants, we will be delivering the ‘Development of Women Sport Carnival Water Safety Team’ project.

The projects aim is to expand women participation in, and enhance pathways for, women members to attain their IRB Driver and/or Crew awards. Following attainment of awards, project participants will be mentored at several aquatic sport carnivals to develop their skills and confidence, with the objective to transfer skills back and increase their club’s patrol services capacity and capability.

We are seeking expressions of interest from at least 10 women members state-wide, who meet the pre-requisites below, who are keen to gain these awards and develop their skills in a supportive, team-focused environment. Participation is at no cost to members.

Program to commence Thursday 11 May 2023.

Pre-requisites – Inflatable Rescue Boat Crew:

  • Financial club member

  • Min. 15 years (on day of final assessment)

  • Current Bronze Medallion

Pre-requisites – Inflatable Rescue Boat Driver:

  • Financial club member

  • Min. 17 years (on day of final assessment)

  • Current Victorian Marine License

  • Current Bronze Medallion

  • Current Inflatable Rescue Boat Crew

Venue: Elwood Life Saving Club

PRIDE IN LIFESAVING – information, learning and network event.

Life Saving Victoria invites club committees, allies, pride community members and all lifesaving members to our upcoming Pride in Lifesaving event, to build capacity, share and ask the important questions in safe and supportive environment.

Event Details:

Session: Pride information and networking

Date: Wednesday, 17 May 2023

Time: 5:30pm for networking refreshments – 6pm to 8pm session

Location: The Views, LSV, Port Melbourne

Event Overview:

To build on LSV's commitment to promoting LGBTQIA+ in lifesaving and the broader community, we invite all members to our upcoming Pride in Lifesaving event to coincide with International Day Against LGBTQIA+ Discrimination (IDHOBIT).

This event will be delivered in three key components providing opportunity to listen, contribute and network;

  • Information session; Facilitated by Pride in Sport, this informative session aims to provide clubs with tips, guidance and advice on how to become, and sustain, a welcoming and inclusive club. This session will also offer an opportunity to ask questions and provide feedback on what support and resources are needed to meet clubs inclusive and diversity goal

  • Announcing our Panel; LSV have actively engaged experts from the Rainbow community and allies who will share their key advice, lessons and respective experiences in establishing and sustaining a welcoming and inclusive environment and programs: 

    • James Quine, Hampton LSC & Lifesavers with Pride 

    • Rylan Wharton, Melbourne Surge Water Polo Club 

    • Steve Gelagotis, Ambulance Victoria 

    • Mandy Walker, Active Monash

  • Networking; To acknowledge World Pride 2023 and celebrate LSV’s Pride in Lifesaving, we bring together our members and guests to reflect on the events insights and promote opportunity to discuss and network together over some delicious refreshments. LSV is a proud ally to the LGBTQIA+ community and encourages everyone to be their authentic selves whilst participating in lifesaving and enjoying our waterways. It’s important that we embrace and celebrate our differences and show in words and actions that everyone is welcome in lifesaving.

SEAL’s Program - Applications Closing Soon

After 3 long years the Woolamai SEAL’s Program is making a comeback in 2023!

The SEAL’s program is an integrated and structured pathway for personal and professional development and is aimed at improving the skills and knowledge of a group of members who are committed and eager to become elite patrollers and leaders of the club.

The Program is run across multiple months in the offseason and requires commitment to attended most of the sessions however, If you are interested in applying but not sure if you can make all the dates, still apply and note down the dates your are unavailble!
