Islander’s Presentation / Hawaiian Night
Arguably the biggest night of the season for the last few seasons is back once again this year!
Come on down to patrol Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd of April for what promises to be 2 fun days!
On Saturday night the Islanders Patrol will be hosting our annual Presentation / Hawaiian night where we play a few games, have some fun, and celebrate a great season while recognising members who have come down to out patrols and gone above and beyond!
More information to come in the coming weeks but for now save the date!
Saturday 22nd April!
We’ll be putting on a feast too so come hungry!
Any questions, please reach out to the leadership team
P.S. Outfits required upon entry :P
New Surf Rescue Quarter Zip Jumper
The club is excited to promote our own club Surf Rescue Patrolling (Quarter Zip) Jumper! These jumpers are to be worn by patrolling members when on patrol or conducting water safety throughout the season.
These jumpers are excellent for those cold, windy, inclement days on the beach. We are hoping to purchase stock into the future however for now, please click on the button below to pre-order your jumper.
Sample Sizes
We were lucky enough to grab a few samples for members to try on before purchasing. These samples have been left in the training room under the TV. Please DO NOT remove these or wear them around as they are purely just samples.
Quarter Zip - Medium
Hoodie - Extra Large
There will be some wriggle room to swap sizes in the future when we stock the product.
Valuing Volunteers Evening (VVE) - Save the Date!
Volunteers make extraordinary contributions to lifesaving each year in a wide range of club and state-wide roles. The VVE is an opportunity to recognise these contributions, while also saying thank you, and within the communities that our members have made an impact.
Valuing Volunteers Evening (VVE) is LSV’s way of thanking our volunteers who contribute hundreds of hours between the red and yellow flags. Members who contribute over 100+ hours this season will be invited to attend the event at LSV.
When: Friday, 19 May 2023
Time: 6:30-9:30pm
Location: The Views, Life Saving Victoria, Port Melbourne
If you are close to 100 hours make sure to SAVE THE DATE!
Venus Bay SLSC Harriet Brown Workshop
On Sunday April 23rd, Venus Bay SLSC is hosting Harriet Brown for a workshop and board paddling session. Harriet is a World Ironwoman Champion, 2 x Nutri-Grain Ironwoman Series Champion, and 3 x Molokai to Oahu Paddleboard Champion & Record Holder. Harriet started her Lifesaving career at Ocean Grove in Victoria before moving to QLD to compete professionally.
Harriet’s workshop will focus on nutrition for female athletes and discuss how female athletes can fuel their bodies for training and to race at their best. As food is so intricately tied to body image it can sometimes be hard to see the positives food can give us. In this presentation, Harriet shares her journey with food and focuses on how to develop a positive relationship with food. The workshop will commence at 2pm and run for about an hour with questions at the end. The nutrition workshop is targeted towards female athletes, however, following this she will run a general Q&A session for any members plus a practical board training session for SRC/Bronze members who would like to attend.
The day will conclude around 4:30/5pm.
Bookings are essential for the nutrition workshop and spaces are open to members in the Bass District so book early to avoid missing out!!!
