Hello everyone.
The season is fast approaching and If you intend to be a part of Woolamai Beach SLSC this season, you MUST renew/pay your membership. For all new and returning members renewing and paying your membership is compulsory before participating at any club or state activity (i.e. new awards or skills maintenance).
The club website includes a range of step by step guides to help you with your memberships. You can find these at https://www.woolamaibeach.org.au/ under the ‘Members’ Tab of the website.

**Please Note: If you’re participating in any of the above programs, you will not be required to pay a membership as they are included in the course fee.
Membership Fees
Membership Fees will remain the same as previous years. Please note: the system was updated over the last few months and will calculate the correct membership fee as per your DOB.
**As this is still fairly new, there may be errors when completing your membership. if that is the case, please contact membership@woolamaibeach.asn.au

Working With Children’s Check (WWCC)
Anyone over the age of 18 must have a valid Victorian WWCC to join the Club. This includes turning 18 during the season. If you applied for a WWCC for the first time, please send a copy of your card to membership@woolamaibeach.asn.au so it can be added to your profile.

Training Opportunities
Silver Medallion Aquatic Rescue (SMAR) - EOI’s
The Silver Medallion Aquatic Rescue award provides participants with the awareness and knowledge, in order to be able to participate in basic lifesaving search and rescue operations. We are lucky enough to be able to run this course again after 2 years of lockdown.
This course is for members who are currently a part or wishing to be a part of the Woolamai Beach Incident Response Team. The emergency response team is a group of highly experienced and skilled clubbies who can be called upon to respond and assist in any coastal emergency in the Phillip Island and surrounding region at any time of the day!
Course Details: (An email with exact course information will be sent to successful applicants prior to the course)
Dates: Friday 23rd - Sunday 25th September 2022 (Grand Final Weekend)

To be able to do this course, members must meet the minimum pre-requisites:
You must be a current financial member of Woolamai Beach SLSC
You must be at least 18 years of age
You must have at least 2 years of patrolling experience
You MUST hold the following SLSA awards
Current Bronze Medallion (BM)
Desirable Awards:
IRB Crew (IRBC)
IRB Drivers (IRBD)
First Aid (FA)
Advanced Resuscitation Techniques (ART)

Beach Lifeguard, RWC Operator, RPAS (Drone) Pilot, LSV Comms Operator Seasonal Recruitment
Recruitment for seasonal positions in the LSV Beach Lifeguard, RWC, RPAS (Drone) & LSV Comms services close strictly on Sunday 18 September. Interested persons should ensure that they apply prior to the closing date.

The Bass District Development Camp is Back!
The Bass District Lifesaving Development Camp Management team are proudly planning to run yet another Development camp in the new year. We are hopeful with easing of restrictions that we may see a full capacity camp with little to no Covid interference.
These are just an expression’s of interest to initially gain a response from club members and get the ball rolling.
Expressions of interest will close on Friday the 23rd of September (Grand Final public holiday) so please spread the word.
About Dev Camp
For those unfamiliar, this camp is a week-long live in camp that is heavily scenario-based training. We offer ART, FA. IRBC and IRBD. We focus heavily on leadership and offer a lot of leadership knowledge, experience, and training. We are hoping to expand beyond the bass region this year and offer both candidate and leadership roles. We encourage everyone to partake. The U18 Leadership Development Camp is an opportunity for our youth members to develop and enhance their leadership and lifesaving skills, to support their progress through their lifesaving journey.
