Nippers Code of Conduct

 

Welcome to Woolamai Beach SLSC Nippers

Our Nippers Code of Conduct has been formalised to ensure the safety, wellbeing and fun of all participants. It formally advises all Nippers, Parents and Guardians, and Age Managers of the required behaviour which forms a condition of participation and membership.

Nippers participant

I commit to:

  1. Participating in Nippers because I enjoy the sport

  2. Always following the rules and respecting the ocean and conditions

  3. Being a good sport and control my temper

  4. Respecting the Official’s decisions

  5. Treating other competitors as I would like to be treated

  6. Aiming to have fun and improve my ability

  7. Listening to my Age Manager, team and my Nipper mates

Parent, Guardian and Carer

I commit to:

  1. Not making an unwilling child participate in a sport

  2. Understanding that my Nipper is involved in sport for their enjoyment, not mine

  3. Encouraging my Nipper to play by the rules

  4. Encouraging that the effort is as important as the result

  5. Working towards improving skills and sportsmanship

  6. Recognising and encouraging good play or efforts

  7. Not publicly questioning an Official’s decision

  8. Recognising and respecting the efforts of volunteers

  9. Offering to assist where help is needed

Age Manager and Assistant Age Manager

My role is to ensure:

  1. I have a commitment to the club to attend training sessions to build my knowledge on beach and water disciplines

  2. Nippers participate for their enjoyment

  3. When Nippers participate in competitions sportsmanship is a priority

  4. I create an environment that is easy for parents to become involved

  5. I will never ridicule or criticise the Nippers about their performance

  6. I will operate within the rules and spirit of the competition and teach my Nippers to do the same

  7. That the time my Nippers spend with me is a positive experience by encouraging and rewarding them equally

  8. That equipment and facilities meet safety standards and are appropriate to the age and ability of my Nippers

  9. My Nippers understand the rules and that they are in place for their safety

  10. I have a commitment to the club to encourage and prepare Nippers for competition

  11. I am proud of my Nippers and will encourage them to proudly represent the club at all times
