G’day, all,

Well, it’s that time again… after the hiatus of last year, we are back on track to have our Special Events running for this season.

Our first event is Channel Challenge on Saturday 19th February 2022.

Cowes Classic and Little Penguin Dash will follow on Saturday 5th March.

We are looking for members to fill our Special Events roles for Channel Challenge.

Here are the key times for the day:

9 am- First Aid Caravan opens, as many people at San Remo as possible to help with set up of the event. If you can help out in Race Centre, please contact ron@fullhousegroup.com.au

10 am- IRB Teams to assemble at Woolamai Beach SLSC to prepare x5 IRBs and Motors for the event

12pm- RWC Team to assemble at Newhaven Shed and prepare (We are aiming to secure two additional Jet Skis to Bass Ski Service, so we will run independently)

1 pm- All IRBs and RWCs to be on the shoreline at San Remo ready to go for the event

2 pm- Water Safety Briefing for all members (if you are not present at this, your spot will be given away)

·       Swim Fins are a must for Tube Swimmers. Swim Caps also required for Boards and Tube Swimmers

3.15 pm- Race Start

4 pm- Race Finish and pack up

6.30 pm- If Covid-19 restrictions allow, back to the club for a social event

If you would like to fill one of the attached spots, please let me know below or email me at maxeldridge@woolamaibeach.asn.au

It’s always a great day! So, jump in, have some fun, enjoy a few laughs, protect lives and be with your mates!

Project Central America: Managua, Nicaragua

OPERATION NICARAGUA 2022

APRIL 11 - APRIL 18, 2022

IT'S TIME!!! It has been two years since ISLA's last surf lifesaving operation in Nicaragua. This year we're deploying a team of lifeguards to work along side the Nicaraguan Red Cross lifeguards during the busy Easter Week. "Semana Santa" is known for it's large local festive crowds, dangerous currents, and unfortunately high fatalities due to drowning.

If you desire to be on the front-lines of surf lifesaving development, this is an ISLA Operation you can't miss! We've even dropped the cost of this year's project to historic levels just to get YOUR flip flops on the ground.

Volunteer applications close Sunday Feb 13th, 2022, so it’s best to apply as soon as possible. Get the full scoop by clicking below.
